Amrita Rao the vivacious beauty of Indian Cinema is trying hard to shed her girl next door image. The actress has not only gone for a different avatar but has opted for a modern thinking too.

“If there is romance, there is bound to be some level of physical intimacy between the couple. As long as both the duo is comfortable it’s no harm.
If it’s their decision to take their rapport in that level with precautions then its fine, ” she adds further.

This young, vibrant and beautifully expressive artiste has bagged two interesting film projects, “Everything Out of Control” and “Molly”. And to top it, she has shot her first animated promotional video for Innovative Media Xolutions (IMX), which is sure to become as popular as a chartbuster song. In “Everything Out of Control”, Kristna plays a modern day character that is very close to her heart. She plays a strong girl, who acts as a Good Samaritan and rescues friends. The spiritually inclined ‘reel’ character, which is quite close to Kristna’s own ‘real life’ spiritual pursuits, helps her friends who are haunted by ‘spirits’. As in her real life, she digs deep into her inner reserves of strengths and musters up strength to fight the unknown and the unseen. Aziz Chhabria’s film provides the perfect platform for Kristna to express her multi-faceted talent in a mystery flick that will have viewers on the edge of their seats.
The Income Tax (IT) department Tuesday denied that there were any plans to interrogate Bollywood actresses Koena Mitra and Celina Jaitley for receiving money from former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda who is at the centre of a Rs.2, 500 crore money laundering scam.
"We are unable to understand from which source media is saying that we are planning to interrogate the Bollywood actresses. At present, we are focusing on transactions of money and how money was taken outside the country, " Director, IT Investigation, Ujjwal Chaudhary told.
According to sources, the focus of investigation is on Koda, and his associates Vinod Sinha, Sanjay Chaudhary and some other people.
According to reports in sections of the media, Mitra and Jaitley were to be interrogated by IT officials for taking money from Koda.
Mitra was appointed as brand ambassador of Jharkhand in January 2008 and she was allegedly paid Rs. 50 lakh and Rs.10 lakh was paid to Jaitley. Koena however says that these are mere allegations and she did not get this big amount from Koda.
So, what exactly is her take? "I have been accused of taking Rs 50 lac for being the ‘face of Jharkhand’. If I had to agree to being the ‘face of a state’, why would I settle for Rs 50 lac only? I’d have charged Rs 80 lac," fumes Koena and adds, "Being the ‘face of a state’ is not something that can happen on the basis of verbal communication. It’s a huge responsibility."
"Besides, hawala money is given in a hundi. Why would they give money for being the ‘face of a state’ in a hundi? A formal letter has to be sent to me from the state government. I never received anything of that sort.
As a celebrity, I was only invited to be a part of a rally. I belong to neighbouring West Bengal and love the culture of Jharkhand. So I did it without charging any fee. As a token gesture however they gave me Rs 3 lakh followed by another Rs 11,000 besides a shawl, chocolates and flowers. I also got first-class treatment from them. But I haven't got any Rs 50 lakh from him," she says.
Koena was later removed after Koda faced criticism over the move.
Now here is a shocker for all Katrina Kaif fans and for the pretty lady herself. A marriage certificate approved by Indore Municipal Corporation claims that the 24-year-old actress married the local MLA on December 2, 2008 and got the same registered with the civic body on December 11 the same year.
While the Indore Municipal Corporation has already issued a statement that the marriage certificate is totally fake and has not been issued by them, the actress is irritated with the news of her 'marriage'.
According to IMC marriage registrar Dr Natwar Sarda, "The marriage certificate is totally fake and was not issued by the municipal body. It must be an act of some mischievous persons. It appears that somebody first scanned the IMC marriage certificate and then with the help of some software showed the bollywood actress and MLA as husband and wife. "
But Kaif is in no mood to litsen the clarifications and fumes,"Obviously, it's a fake certificate! I have never been married in my life and neither do I know this guy at all. It's stupid and illegal what he has done and the police have already filed a case against him.
The cops called me to say that this man had issued a fake marriage and they are taking action against him. I guess the more famous you get, the more people do such silly things. I was in New York on December 2 shooting for New York - the day this man claims to have married me."
"We have all kind of crazy fans and people out there. Juhi Chawla's staff who now work with me tell me that even she used to face the same thing. And after a point, she stopped clicking pictures with fans because she had no control over where they would pop up or how they would be misused. I guess we all have to learn to handle such weird people sometimes. It's part of the life of a celebrity," adds Kat.
The IMC has taken the issue seriously and will soon lodge a complaint with the police so that the persons who have done it can be booked for the crime.
CHECK OUT: 'Prem' ki ghazab kahani... Yes, that's what Raj Kumar Santoshi's latest offering is. Prem (Ranbir Kapoor) runs Happy Club along with his friends. Their motto is simple; keep everyone happy and help lovers in distress. As president of the club, Prem and his gang go to any length to make sure two lovers get married. Even if it means getting the one he loves Jennifer, (Katrina Kaif) married off to the one she loves. There are enough comic situations to justify that this is a comedy but not enough substance to validate the overemphasis on love. In the end, it's more a masala flick than a comedy. But thanks to Ranbir, this film becomes bearable and there are moments he has you in his grasp, either with his performance or simply by his sheer presence. Katrina Kaif looks pretty as usual and has done a good job. However, I get a feeling that she has been miscast in this role. But when you look at it from the distributors and marketing point of view, this is a super jodi. I'm sure we will see more of them Just one question to Ranbir Kapoor and the people who have marketed this film: was it necessary to time the break-up story (if at all it is true) with girlfriend Deepika Padukone a few days before the release? I mean, C'mon, Ranbir can get the audience into the theatres on the strength of his performance. He does not need cheap publicity gimmicks to create a buzz about the film. On second thoughts, maybe Ranbir had no choice but to play to the market and make sure the film capitalized on the 'initials'. Love be damned. |
